DEAR SANDY,
I’m 44 years old and in the last year I’ve noticed brown, patchy spots on my face. What’s the best remedy to get rid of brown spots – age spots, sun spots -- naturally?
FEELING SPOTTY
DEAR FEELING SPOTTY,
I know the feeling of having these spots on your face. It affects your self confidence and nothing really covers them up.
I’m glad you asked about finding a natural solution because the products on the market today contain hydroquinone, which is a known carcinogen.
Here are some natural treatments that will help lighten those spots that come from hormones, sun and aging. For the best results apply any one of the following treatments twice a day and use zinc as a natural sunscreen to prevent the dark spots from becoming darker:
1. Vitamin C – In the morning and evening, after you wash your face, rub a slice of orange or lemon on the area. Let dry and continue with your normal routine.
2. Papaya Peel – After washing your face take the peel of a papaya and rub the inside over your face. Let dry for 10-15 minutes and then rinse.
3. Onion – Yep, a few tears here but worth it. Juice an onion and use a cotton swab to dab onto your brown spots. Let dry and continue with your normal routine.
You can juice the onion(s), put in an airtight container and keep refrigerated so you’ll have plenty for your daily treatment and you won’t have to mess every time.
If you prefer not to use a kitchen remedy, a product I have tried that’s natural and doesn’t have any cancer-causing agents isCaracol Bella. It has an enzyme found in helix aspersa muller, a special snail of the Amazon. It works to fade those brown spots whether they are from the sun, hormones or age. Good luck and let me know how it’s going.
For a More Beautiful You,
